have 98 066 3.1 liter 200hp yam. problem is when wot can trim all the way which gives me 5600 rpm at 72 mph. but as off last tournament trim will back off slightly leaving me only 5100 rpm and considerable slower. have checked oil level-fine. put new o-rings and teflon rings on trim pistons, problem still persists.when this happens, it will stay any where from 1sec to 2 minutes at full trim before it settles back partialy, have to keep trimming up to keep up speed. HELP!!!!

other then replacing the valve on the back side, you have one other thing to check. open the bleeder screw all the way and let the motor go down by itself. retighten the screw and trim up the motor. do this several times cause its possible you have a piece or trash in the manual valve or it might not be tight enough to start. its located on the side of the motor bracket. hope this does it for you cause the other valve is not cheap and you have to pull the trim unit off to get to it. let us know.Michael Babuchna
