Hello,
For a long time I ran premium fuel thinking it would make the engine run better, as prices escalated several years ago I went to regular. Absolutly no difference... Ran it on V6 merc, 2 Cylinder suzuki and Yamaha, and now a 90 HP Yamaha. As long as your fuel delivery system that works properly (and you are watching for potenial the ethanol issues) you should be fine on regular. To be sure do you have a manual that would specify octane?

d',
Your manual specs 87 octane (in fact, I believe it's 86) - anything higher, and you are wasting money.
Higher octane fuels are designed to run in higher compression engines - you run 'em in lower compression models and take a chance that not all the fuel will burn, thereby building up more carbon and poorer performance - JMO.
