I have a 89 150 pro v on a 18' charger and it has lost power. It stats and idles great but when you go to take off it can't get the boat on plane. It sounds as it just does not have enough power. What is wrong??
I would do a compression test on the motor. If that checks out good (all cylinders above 100 psi...) check the fuel pumps. How old are they? If they're more than five years old replace 'em. That's just a starting point.
