Got an engine warning last weekend boat rpms went down to safe mode and returned home with one engine. have twin 2000 ox66 salwater series 150hp 2 strokes. Took engine covers off and stbd engine tank was very low up on engine. removed both remote tanks changed both inline filters zapped the stbd pump with 12 volts and just a slight grinding noise. installed a new pump and just wanted to know a little about the electric end of it. tryed to see if pump will work with emergency swith with control on motor in the on position (not running) and didn't hear anything? Is this because I have no oil in the newly cleaned tanks yet? does that float send a signal that there is nothing to pump therefore not allowing pumps to turn on? Just wanted to know before I fill them up with new yamalube or if I shoul pull out again and check something else?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
