oil injection removal

have pair of 1989 Yam 150s. oil reservoir on port engine does not refill from main tank. oil alarm goes off every 2 to 3 hours. have to refill reservoir manually (not easy in high seas). thinking of removing oil injection system and premixing fuel. better to try to repair injection system or eliminate it? If removing injection system, is this relatively painless?
