Digital speedo gone bad????

Went to use boat other day and my digital speedo does not seem to be working properly. Half of all characters are displayed. Can't tell speed or fuel level. Has the unit gone bad? Gottten wet and needs to dry? Battery replaced? I boat the boat used and do not have an owners manual. Any info appreciated!

When you first turn the key on and it runs through it's test do all the LCD characters light up? If not, its just going bad and need to be replaced. You can find them on Ebay or buy one from here if you like. There's no battery inside to replace.

No, all the characters don't light up. Thought it might be loose ground or something like that. Thanks for the reply.
