2000 vx200tlry fuel injected starting issue

The first starting of the day starts with one key turn. After the engine has ran awhile it takes 2 or 3 turns to start and has a strong gas smell likes its flooded. This has just started .This motor has always started first key turn. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

do you SEE the fuel anywhere ??
first thing i would check is your primary fuel pumps...how does it run at higher rpms?
run it with the cowl and airbox off to see if you have any blowback thru intake or excess recirc fuel out of small tubes that refeed into the airbox.
do yourself a favor and dont run it too much or hard cause if it is the primaries, then your HP pump will starve and burn up.

It runs fine at all rpms after the motor starts.
I didn't see any excess fuel anywhere the first time this happened. Thanks

if it runs fine at all rpms, i would START simply and cheaply with plugs.
