I've recently acquired a boat with a 70 etd, when I run full throttle it sometimes backs off on speed. Runs about 2300 rpms. This happens intermittently. New plugs, haven't checked fuel filter. Has been winterized approx 2 yrs before I took ownership (v low hours). Thinking it may be the fuel filter, any thoughts? Thanks.

It may be going into RPM reduction.Check the warning system to see if working properly, disconnect the pink at temp sensor on cylinder head and touch it to engine block with ignition key on, warning buzzer should sound. If it doesn't sound then buzzer may be bad and the engine could be giving a overheat or low oil warning.
