Motor shaft lenght ?

I'm trying to find out how to measure a Yamaha 200hp motor shaft lenght. I pretty sure it is a 89 year model ,but the plate to identify motor is missing and need new shift rod. I don't know how to tell if its a 20 or 25 inch shaft motor.

easiest is to measure your transom.

Measure from the bottom of the lower cowling to the top of the lower unit where it separates from the upper casing - I just did this on my 20 inch shaft C115 and measured approx 20 inches.
