2017 Yamaha F25SWHC Gauges

Hello,

I have a 2017 Yamaha F25SWHC (Short shaft, Electric start, Tiller handle).

I'd like to install a tachometer & hour meter.

Looking at the rigging guide it appears I have 2 or 3 options,
however all of the wiring diagrams are for remote controls.

Can anyone confirm if I can install these with a tiller handle,
& if so, any additional components I would require?

Gauges I am looking at...

Pro series II Analog gauges:
6Y7-83540-90-00 Tachometer
6Y7-83504-10-00 Hour meter

Command Link Single Engine Gauge Kit:
6Y8-0E83R-81-00


Multifunction Tachometer Kit:
6Y5-8350T-83-00
This looks to be only for 2004 & earlier. (??)

Start with looking in this manual and decide what you want to do. That is, pin point if you want analog needle and dial gauges, multifunction digital display, or Command Link digital. If the latter, which ones?

So it looks like all I will need for the Command Link Gauge is the
6Y8-0E83R-81-00 kit.

The signal harness installation would look like:
Motor, Pigtail, Inline hub, Main bus harness, Inline hub, Pigtail, Tachometer.

There would be a ground & switched power connection on the the
Main Bus Harness.

Apparently the 6x4 Multi-Function & factory installed tiller handles
are not the same, as my tiller handle does not have a key switch.
I have a start button on the front of the motor, just under the cowl latch.
I'll just provide the power connections directly from my battery.

I'm going to verify the connector for the pigtail lead in my motor tonight.
If you happen know approximately where I should find it, that would be helpful.

The CL kit contains everything needed but a pig tail lead which is length dependent. Buy the length needed.

You may have to figure out a way to get electrical power to the CL tachometer if there is no power source available in the tiller handle.

I don't propose to know, and cannot know, every possible Yamaha configuration for every different model. Just when it is thought Yamaha will do something one way they will do it a different way.

The CL connector is usually found at the front of the engine pan. It is a bright white connector with a cap on it. Four pin connector but only two wires used. Blue and white.

Just for reference, the Command Link connector on my motor is on the
port side directly under the oil filter, hiding in plain sight.

As boscoe99 advised, bright white capped connector, 4 pins,
1 white wire, 1 blue wire.

I FINALLY got out on the water yesterday & started to break-in the new motor, tach worked perfectly, I'm very happy.
