Hi, and thanks to Ken for replying to my first post. Now, regarding the same 1998 C150TLRW, I have discovered that the inline fuse that connects to the trim switch on the side of the motor is constantly very hot even with the motor off and the key is out. I think this is what is draining my cranking battery while I'm fishing, and causing me to be stranded on the lake. Why is this fuse constantly hot. There must be an amp draw there, but I blew the fuse on my meter while testing for it. What should I check next? Blessings to all!

A short in the circuit will cause the fuse to be hot. Check the voltage regulator as per service manual. Unplug the 10 pin main harness going to key switch, if fuse still stays hot then short is on engine. If fuse is ok then short is in 10 pin harness, key switch or something connected to key switch.
