  • Lower shroud on 2014 300 HP

Is there a "threaded insert" on the port side lower shroud that the starboard side bolts go into? One of the bolt holes is not stripped - it seems to simply be a hole that should have a threaded insert.

Yes, simply tiny nuts that come loose without it being known. They then seek out the best hidey hole before coming to rest.

Yamaha likes to use gray so that it blends better with a gray concrete floor.

The nut I'm missing is #10 in the illustration on the right.

          Thanks

            Rodnut17 probably has it.

Those nuts are pesky little buggers. You can forget they are in the apron and when you push the bolt in it sends the nut off to rodnutland. At times never to be seen again. They are only surpassed by check balls from power trim and tilt units in their ability to find a good hiding spot.

a standard stainless 6mmx1mm will work.
