  • 75hp four stroke Yamaha tilt motor problem

I have a motor that was manfactured in july 2004 but is titled 2005. The info from the frame plate calls it a F75TLRD. I ordered a aftermarket trim motor, part #6D8-43880-01-00 which won't make up do to different shaft length. It is supplied with a connector, but the bottom which goes to pump drive is wrong gender. That motor is returned.
After a lot of research I found part numbers for a trim motor for 2004 and earlier, F75TLRC. I can't establish the proper length for the aftermarket from the vendor. The length of my old motor's shaft is 1-1/2" I need help without just ordering another motor. Has anybody run into this mess before? ?My engines serial is #1003674

An F75TLRD model is a 2005 model year motor.

Parts book shows that it uses a 6D8-43880-00-00 motor.

    6D8-43880-00-00 YAMAHA MOTOR ASSY

    The 2003 and 2004 F75TLRB and F75TLRC models uses a 67F-43880-00-00 motor.

    All F75TLR models from 2005 thru 2011 used either a 6D8-43880-00-00 motor or a 6D8-43880-01-00 motor.

The -00-00 motor and the -01-00 motor have been superseded by the -09-00 motor.

If you order the part from Yamaha I suspect that it will fit. That is, the problem is more than likely with the aftermarket pump maker.

Double check your data plate. You say it says the model is an F75TLRD. By the complete engine ID (62PL 1003674) it shows up as an F75TLRC model.

My apologies to those that find the use of words being in bold as offensive.

I'm sure his X motor is still missing from 2-3000 rpm.

Didn't he ask you, Scott, to go inspect his house after the storm?
