2005 200 hpdi

i have a 2005 200 hpdi yesterday i launched my boat at low tide and got into a bit of mud.after the alarm started going of i headed back to the ramp the motor was smoking a bit and the alarm was still going off.ass soon as i got home i flushed the motor with fresh water and put the ear muffs on and ran it.everything seemed fine.so today i went to a nearby boat ramp to submerge the motor to further ensure that i did no damage.it fired rite up and idled for about a minuet and stalled could not get it to start again.got it home put the muffs back on it will start for a second and stall .can not get it to run .what did i do and what can i do to fix it .thank you in advance jim thompson

Well it could be a blown head gasket or it could be serious engine trouble. Check the compression, if ok then start and run until stalls. Remove spark plugs and check for water on plugs. If wet with water pull heads, exhaust plates and check for cracks or block damage.
