Might also be noted that Mercury Marine uses a different criteria for pass/fail.

So, mechanics don't always agree with other mechanics and companies don't always agree with other companies or even with their own mechanics.

water, oil, and carbon can effect a compression test to make it appear normal.

if the motor is running fine I most likely wont be compression testing.
