That is a very unusual part to be needed. Almost never fails. Might explain why it is not stocked at Yamaha USA.

Call Yamaha customer support and see if they have a surplus part available. Sometimes they will take a new motor and remove the dressed power head from it. To fulfill a warranty claim. That leaves them with a mid-section that might not be used. It would be a snap to remove a shift shaft from a surplus mid-section if they have one laying about.

Thank you guys so much for the help, the part number that you asked about is the old part number Before they switched it from the the 6CB-44120-00-00 to the 6CB-44120-01-00.

I will try and find a phone number to Yamaha warranty department to see if they have any available as you recommended, or if they might know where I can find 1. That's a great idea.
I found a used 1 on EBay and ordered it but I'm not getting my hopes up to as if it will really come or if its even good enough to use.
I will keep u posted though.
Again, thank you guys so much.

Hit a bluff wall with the back of the motor, long story short I had my hydraulic jack plate raised to high, spun out and hit back of motor on underwater bluff.
            Bent shaft.

***, I bet that was one heck of a ride.

I have heard of some of the flats boats catching air at high speed and taking off.
              Speed can be scary.

I do not understand how a hit at back of motor would hurt the shift shaft tho, unless the con*****er was moved with force while this all was going down

                yes, it was scary.
                it damaged motor pretty bad.
if I knew how 2 attach pics I would.

i was going around a curve to fast and hit a wave.
