  • Is this bad?

2004 F225 with 1192 hours. Just bought this boat in April of this year. While troubleshooting some fuel gremlins, thought I would pull my plugs and check them. They were replaced in May when the exhaust corrosion issue was addressed. #2 and #5 look like they have not been firing, sooted up and the Siamese coil pack is badly rusted up at the mounting bolts and they will not come out, backing nuts spin in plastic housing. #5 plug worse than #2 plug.

The fuel issues were bad lift pump which I installed a new one and the VST HP filter was clogged, other than crud in filter, VST was pretty clean.

Do you guys think the plugs are fouled from lack of spark or lack of fuel? Guess I need to order the plastic backing plate and a new coil for #2 and #5.

    Thanks in advance.

With new plugs...check and see if that coil is still firing or not.

Yes replace the coil, save you trouble in the future.

Maybe a can of boeshield or LPS-2 or 3 to spray down the engine...slow down the rusties.

I was hoping Pratt would chime in. Safety first though for him.

                LPS-2 : http://www.lpslabs.com/product-details/561

Plus one on a good spray down, maybe a light rinse with Salt Away first if needed...

Pratt has a few days before Irma hands him his arse on a platter. Irma (la douce) is then going up the eastern seaboard to visit our Canuck friends.

I get to guess just like the computer models do. Looks like the computers got all of their bases covered. Forecast tracks are all over the map.

In my next life I want to be either a weatherman or an economist: you can be wrong more than 50% of the time, not even say why yet keep your job. Go figger.

they have a couple Irma tracks I really really do not like.

on the plugs no fuel and they stay white. to much fuel and they turn dry black. to much oil and they are oily black.
