On the Ice Road Truckers a guy ends almost every sentence with "B'y". A google search says this is something common in the New Found Land. Are you familiar with this? Do you use it?
Newfoundland has a complex linguistic history. The evolution of unusual dialect on this predominantly English speaking island (98% regard English as mother tongue) is to be expected as Newfoundland was outside the social and political development of the mainland.
