Scott - thanks! That site is very easy to use. I don't have any "great" pictures, but these are a few that might show it. Some are pics of how the boat came to me and some are taken during the process of rebuilding the floor and the aft bulkheads. And most are taken with the boat in a "dirty" situation. But they kind of show the area. I could certainly do more with the area, but since I only have the forward, 92 gallon, gas tank (and not the aft, 56 gallon, tank) I don't really need extra storage as the spot where the 56 gallon tank would have been is huge.

If I can get the lower unit off (that's a whole 'nother challenge - it's stuck), maybe I'll flush it that way. But I think flushing it through the engine mounted flush adapter should do the trick. I have a large enough plastic drum that should collect the fluid to be recirculated. Anything that looks like it isn't landing in the drum, I can redirect that with plastic sheeting taped on - or something like that - that'll be easy enough to figure out.

Thanks, Scott! It was my first attempt at a fiberglassing job anywhere near this big. Big area? Yes! I actually have a good-sized 2-man tent that I keep on board, along with a blow-up mattress. Makes it so we can sleep 4 people. And then hook up the grill... boil some water... make coffee...

I got to ask...what kind of structure is inside the pylon (what the engine is on) and how is it attached to the boat?

The outboard conversion was done before I bought the boat. Even though they hacked the floor up and never finished that part (which helped lead to the floor's core getting wet/soft), they did do a nice job on the conversion. In addition to the aluminum angle you can easily see going to the stringers, the transom was reinforced on the inside with wood/glass (both ply and a 2x beam) and still another Al angle that runs transversely on the transom.

But, I've never looked inside the motor bracket. However, it's through bolted to the transom, as I suspect is common place for outboard motor brackets.

Scott, do you mean a picture taken from OUTSIDE the boat, looking at the engine bracket? There's one above of that, but maybe you mean something else? Was there something specific you were curious about?

Thanks! It's actually even cleaner, now (that was the original condition). And I keep the inside sprayed down with Boeshield.
