BTW panasonic Will the bottom linkage attached to the bottom carb affect the CDI ? The white clip split and my sons friend had it rigged to stay on. NOT the way i do things but my son got impatient. I think that linkage controls oil ???

If that linkage goes to the oil pump and it WAS broke, I suspect the OIL PUMP defaults and pumps MAX OIL.

That could cause black plugs, fouling, not sure if there's an alarm for that condition...

In any event, replace what you know is broke

There is a link to the oil pump AND a link to the CDI unit.

Which one?

Oil pump will have hoses....CDI will have a bunch of wires coming out of it, rectangular box.

Please supply pictures if possible.
