do you mean, using Command Link gauge(s)
vs
no discrete gauge(s), rather displaying engine data on a "multifunction display" ?
the pros to the CL that come to mind are,
- able to see a numeric Yamaha engine fault code (if any active in the ECU)
- built-in 100 operating hour maintenance reminder
otherwise, I can't think of any engine data (or alarm indications) that are not broadcast as NMEA 2000 and displayable by any capable MFD
You're on track there, fairdeal. Something else to ponder is that with gauges info is there in front of you vs paging through views on the mfd to get to the same info.
