I have a 2003 150 vmax and about 2 months ago the lower unit started knocking I took it to a certified Yamaha mechanic and he rebuilt it. I got it back and the second time I went out in it the knocking started again took it back to same mechanic he said gears were broke worse than before he rebuilt it for free.l have had it back now for about one month and yesterday the knocking started again I never hit anything at all none of the times this has happened I don't know where to go from here this is now the third time in less than 3 months any advise Thanks

I have no idea what a "certified mokanik" is.
find a dealership that has a master tech.
I can be certified with an online video course.
does not mean I can spell or actually properly repair anything.
look on the wall, minimum drive train cert.
preferably a master tech cert.
there are not many young master techs.

But agreed, certs doesn't always mean a MT know's what their doing.
Here's some MASTER TECH work done to my WP, (that I later got to clean up):
And it ain't grease...
$100 plus an hour for this crappy "work". Cert's mean EVERYTHING..
