Okay after looking at tons of threads, and researched all over the net. Can someone please tell me if I can install a water temp sensor on 2001 yamaha V150TLRZ. I've seen people saying mount on top head, mount here mount there.... water pressure is mounted on top the starboard side of the head. There is a bolt on top the port side head , is that where I would install one? Yamaha doesn't have the option part for this or I just over looked it. Can I use a aftermarket one? Any pix of where the sensor should go would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The thread size for the hole/plug in the head is M14 x 1.5
Yamaha sells a temperature sender for their analog gauges that is a direct fit - but as pointed out above -
that sender may - or may not - work correctly with your Teleflex gauge.
Teleflex lists senders for your gauge in several NPT threads:
what you certainly could do, is use the 1/8" NPT Teleflex sender, and obtain an adapter bushing to take it up to the M14 thread.
Yamaha sells such a bushing (intended for their analog pressure gauge)

seems you need to look for what works with your gauge you purchased
For Sender information refer to the SeaStar Solutions Sender Code data

but on my F225TXRD those plugs are stainless steel - not my favorite metal to tap...
