How do you identify year of a motor

Trying to I.D. a 30 hp yamaha outboard motor model # 30 e l h ,
Serial # 6j8 -L - 450193
Also trying to determine if this is a 2 stroke or 4 stroke model !!
Can anyone help??

Absolutely, positively a 1987 model year two stroke 30 HP Yamaha.

Panasonic's link works for me but it takes you to the Yamaha USA parts catalog. From there just a bit of navigating is needed to get to the 30ELH model.
