Need to ID- helping neighbor kid

  • Need to ID- helping neighbor kid

    Neighbor kid saved up his grass mowing money and bought what is suppose to be a 30 hp yammie- painted over and no SN#.
    Head gasket blown bad-overwise looks ok. Need to ID so we can get gasket.
    Please see if anybody can ID-

    I suspect you'll find a serial number in the circular boss in your first picture. It's right above the exhaust cover. I can't read it - but if you read it and reply in a post, someone might be able to ID for you.

        ID motor

        Yes- SN # is scratched off- Kid got the motor from local constable- so it was likey stolen recovery- Tennessee does not title motors.

        We think it is a 30 A 1981-1986
        We matched the head gasket and have one on the way-

          If you check the parts section above (in RED-PURCHASE YAMAHA PARTS) and compare pic's to the engine should help.

          It appears your pretty close if not dead on. Go thru the different years, checking different parts to help narrow it down further..
