  • Yamaha f115 Throttle Valve Opening error

    Hi all,

on my Yamaha F115 2009, I made a scan with the Yamaha Diagnosis System, and you can find attached the results. Basically the Throttle Valve Opening is out of range when the RPM are between the idle and 1500 (from -3.8 to 0). Over 1500 RPM everything is fine.

In the Service Manual I found this:

    ADJUSTING THE THROTTLE
    POSITION SENSOR

    Throttle position sensor output
    voltage (pink (P) – black (B))
    0.732 ± 0.014 V

    Measuring steps
    (1) Remove the intake silencer. Refer to
    “INTAKE ASSEMBLY” on page 4-3.
    (2) Disconnect the throttle joint link rod 1
    at the throttle body.
    (3) Check the throttle valve.
    (4) Connect the test harness (3-pin) as
    shown.
    (5) Connect the digital tester probes to the
    test harness (3-pin) as shown.
    (6) Turn the engine start switch on.
    (7) Measure the output voltage.
    (8) Install the intake silencer.
    (9) Start the engine and measure the output
    voltage again.

    Adjustment steps
    (1) Loosen the screws 2.
    (2) Adjust the position of the throttle position
    sensor until the specified output
    voltage is obtained.
    (3) Tighten the screws.
    (4) Connect the throttle joint link rod 1.

Am I on the right way doing this?

    Thanks!

sometimes Rodbolt is unable to view photos - so I'm reposting yours in case he sees this thread.
Seems to me, several interesting values displayed

correctly set up the throttle linkage and correctly adjust the TPS.
not difficult at all but not much data.
your shooting for about .73V and an ISC of about 35-40%.

              Now everything is fine, thanks!
With the YDS I setted up the TPS at the proper value and now all the value are in the range.

              Please find new value attached.

all the numbers look very close.
                    most all are in spec.
run it like ya stole it.

Again thank you for the precious help.

To help somebody else with the same issue, this fix solved a problem I explained in the past (error code 37), here the old thread:

Having the proper equipment to have a look at what the ECU is seeing helps a bunch.
I am sure if you had posted the screen shots last year you would have saved yourself a lot of lost time finding this problem

Totally agree! Without the right tools you go nowhere.
I purchased this YDS for 50 euros on ebay, and saved me a lot of time and money!

YDS is a decent tool for telling me what ghosts not to chase.
the best tool Is between the ears.
