I have a 2000 ox66 250 HP yamaha and would like to know how to install a fuel management system.. I am not sure if this motor has the harness and flow sensor installed on it already, I know there is no flow gauge currently on the boat... Assuming I dont have any of those components, what would be the cheapest way to go about seeing my fuel flow and burn rate. I do have a new Garmin plotter and it has the NMEA 2000 built in so I dont need to use the yamaha fuel management gauge, but do i still need to run the yamaha factory harness and install the yamaha factory flow sensor?? What else is needed for the Plotter to pick up my engins information and fuel..

Fuel flow can be totally independent of the engine's wiring. In a roundabout way, it really has nothing to do with the engine. All the fuel flow sensor cares about is how much fuel is flowing through the pipe. Get the Garmin fuel flow sensor, install, done.2000 Yamaha OX66 250HP SX250TXRY 61AX103847T
