Yamaha key replacement

Hi all, I only have one key for the boat so I went to ace to have them make up a new key for me. He came back and told me he couldn't make a copy for some reason. I then took it to two locksmiths and they said the same thing. Is the only way to get a copy is thru yamaha? How much is it for them to give me a copy? Thank you

I paid $11.00 awhile back at a local shop for an extra key. I believe they are available at Boats.net that sponsors this forum. Get the three digit number off the shank of key. You may have to peel back the rubber cover to see it. You may need your reading glasses...
