705 control box question

I just swapped out a 60 2 stroke for a F70 on my skiff, when I shift the 705 lever forward the engine shifts into reverse and verse visa. Throttle is fine. Can the 705 be changed internally ?? Thanks for any help

Yes. A pull to open/push to close 705 control box can be converted to a push to open/pull to close configuration.
