90 ETLK Gear

Hey Guys,

I need to replace the gear set in my 1985 90 ETLK. I can find all of them but the Gear 1 assembly part#6H1-45560-00-00 which is obsolete. Is there another gear I can use that may have a different ratio or somebody that makes aftermarket??

See your local Yam dealer. There is a bulletin that has been issued by Yam that addresses the need to change the gear set, not just individual gears. The bulletin will specify the part numbers.

90 ETLK Gear

Had the dealership contact Yamaha, they said the clutch dog and forward gear are obsolete and will no longer be produced or available. Any ideas? Is there another gear ratio that would work?

Good grief. As The Donald might say "so sad".

The dealer should not have had to call Yamaha. Yamaha should not have reported what they did.

Yamaha technical bulletin 093-020 addresses the use of 1994 gear parts when rebuilding a 1984 ~ 1987 gear case.
