I have connected my Lowrance HDS and Yamaha interface cable and all seems to be working except the hours on the motor is 3 blanks _ _ _. What would the problem be? Thanks for your help!

I'd be inclined to think its in the Lowrance, a setting, or a bug....
when was the engine built? and how many hours does it have? -

only that recently, I have seen "a couple" of posts here & there of
people reporting that they were unable to get satisfactory N2K data
with a "simple" Command Link to N2K backbone connection
- until they added a Yamaha Gateway - then everything was fine.
and wondering if perhaps Yamaha had recently "done something" to require it
when for a decade we have all been happily getting along without the gateway
