Yamaha brushes for my sx225txrz are less than 10 bucks each. So for $80 your probably getting more than just the brush

After dropping $80 for dinner one time I got the brush all right.

what is funny.
I am probably the only poster that has actually turned rotors or drums.
or actually has use an armerture lathe, a growler or a mica cutter.

sometimes ,if you value your time, it is just easier to buy the parts and go on.

I have done them all in the past, but do not have access to any of the equipment to play with them anymore.

I am sure some of my friends with metal layths could rig them up.
but not the same as using the equipment meant for doing it.

I think the labor rate back in the early 70s was $7.50 an hour in one or more of the Independent auto shops I worked in, if my memory is still correct.
life was simpler and cheaper back then

Take the trim motor to an auto-electric shop. They can probably service the motor for less than 50 bucks. New brushes, turn the armature to clean it up and under cut the mica spaces between the armature segments, etc.

Or try these folks. Good stuff at great prices.

Or buy the whole motor for $80. I would recommend to add sealant at the seams and additional paint.
