The impossible poppet valve

The plastic poppet valve on my 04' F225 lives in a small hobbit sized space and is scared to come out. I'm done talking nice to it. I swear I'll have to break that thing off, before it moves, and then pick out the pieces with a right angle home made tool ... assisted by a mirror.

So what have y'all done to keep this a 2 beer job?

Did you remove the locking tab?

I've already partially rounded off the plastic hex.

I'm gonna flush the engine with salt away ... probably more of a check list "did you do that" kinda thing, but who knows.
