Is it the situation that you replaced the old style 703 box with the new version and then the stiffness appeared?

        Hi, thanks for the reply.
To explain a little more .. We are aluminum boat builders in Botswana ...
        We have installed many Yammi's
and, no, we havnt changed our design or steering consol location .. the issue persists across a wide selection of our hulls and across a wide range of yammi's
        From F25 thru to F150

I find the new boxes stiff .. And have failed to get a response from Yamaha South africa on the subject. So, was just wondering if any one else had experienced similar issues

        Cheers

          Hi
          Thanks for the reply ..
Nope on the retro fit ..

This is on new innstallations, mostly onto new boats, but some on older hulls being re powered.

          Cheers

First I have heard of a particular problem with the new style 703 control box. Too bad Yamaha South Africa is not responding.

Maybe inspect a few of the boxes to ensure they were adequately lubricated from the factory. Would not be the first time a problem like this has surfaced.

Maybe those friction screws are somehow stuck in the on/high friction setting???
