Installing a Tach/hourmeter

My boat/motor does not have an hour meter gauge. Anyone know if I boat a Sierra Lido 3" Tachometer W/ hour meter on it would it work? Cant really see pulling boat out of water to take it to the dealer to read hours.

What is the model of the motor?

A 2 HP two stroke no, it won't work.

An F350 yes, it will work.

Keep in mind the tachometer will indicate tachometer hours. Not engine hours.
