I have a 1992 Yamaha 200HP. It's been sitting up 7 years. I rebuilt the carbs, and performed the tune up, making all the adjustments. I took the boat out, and it runs great at open throttle, but doesn't idle well. Heading down to the Keys this weekend, and want it running well. I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to improve idle. Thanks.

Reply back with your engine model for more accurate suggestions.
Since it was sitting for so long I'd go through the entire fuel system. Hopefully you evacuated the 7 year fuel from engine, fuel lines, tank, etc. if the only issue is idle, check the carbs are timed and sync correctly. You may only need to adjust the idle mix screw. Look at your service manual to confirm spec turn out of idle mix screw, then confirm idle mix screws on each carb is set correctly. Turn each screw in until it seats, noting the number of turns. Once these are properly set, if necessary adjust the idle speed screw to fine tune idle rpms.Jason
