SHO Power loss

I have a 2017 250 SHO that keeps cutting off once I get over 4k RPMs.
Just dies completely and squats. Engine fires right back up and off I go.
Will take in for warranty work but wanted to check here if anyone had a suggestion for what to look for.
- Checked the fuse box (fuel pump specifically) all good
- Checked Primer bulb, it functions fine
- Checked for kinks in fuel line, none
- Removed fuel water separator to check for obstructions, none
- Filter on engine appears clean and full, didn't remove

Is the boat a re-power?

I ask in that possibly the fuel tank pick up may be partially clogged and your literally running out fuel (as the pump can't pull from the clogged pick up).

Once you idle back down, the engine fuel pumps can keep up.

You could hook up a separate say 6 gallon tank direct to the engine and try it.

If it spins all the way up, you've narrowed down the issue..

I agree with the professional backyardian. Hook up a Portable tank and see if that solves your problem. You never said if this is a new boat or not. So it may be the boats fuel system causing the problem.

If hooking up portable tank fixes it, then you know its the engine. I would bring your brand new engine back and tell them to fix ASAP. Dont fool with engine yourself as it may void the warranty.

if the portable tank makes it run OK then it is not the motor, it is the boat fuel tank/lines that is the problem

Sounds like a good idea to isolate the fuel feed with a separate source.
Will try that then take in if need be.
Surely will not tinker with motor!
Think it is a fuel problem because I ran it again and if I give the primer bulb a good pumping, it'll run wide open no problem...stop and idle around or fish, then take off again without pumping bulb and it will quit again.

Here's what I did...
Noticed a pattern of earlier described symptom happening most often late in the day, and was accompanied with my electronics flashing and/or turning off when I cranked the motor.
Thought it might be a weak battery but battery tested out at 12.9V and load tested fine.
On the water one day it ran fine nearly all day, then suddenly started doing it again. I repeatedly ran the boat up past 4K RPM and each time it died.
Went to the dock, swapped leads from cranking battery to a *****ing motor battery and immediately began running fine with no issues and it hasn't done it sine.
Battery?!?...who'd thunk it? Especially one that appeared to test out fine.

could have been a bad connection also,
taking it apart and putting back together may have got a better connection.
Or the charging system could not keep up during the day of fishing
