2004 Yamaha 40hp cowling

I am looking at a replacement cowling for my model F40TLRC motor. I found some online from the same year and also 40hp. The one in looking at it a F40MLHC. Would this cowling fit on my engine or am I just not that lucky?

I see what you're saying but would it still fit and lock into the bottom? It's a POS I sank and the cardboard box isn't doing a good enough job.

It will fit. Plug and play. You will just have a hole in the front where the handle would normally be. I bit of duct tape can be used to cover the hole.
