9.9 high thrust

have a 2017 Yamaha 9.9 high thrust remote control with electric start to a 703 control box . The main electrical connection is (Yamaha connection) hidden best I can but salt water or rain can get at it , is this a weather tight connection or what to you suggest to use on the electrical pins , Vaseline ?? something obviously non conductive , any help or suggestions would be great

it looks like it will stay dry, o ring in connector. may b I will put a small layer of grease to aid in protection , no one else worries about this ???

Only a very few.

For the most part it is not an issue. The bullet connectors within the control box are moisture resistant. The seven or ten pin connector on the motor is also sealed.
