I have a 2012 F115 with PTT. Last time out the PTT failed and only a clicking sound was heard when trying to trim. Motored to shore and for some reason the trim began working again. A few weeks later I tried to start the motor and the starter only clicked and would not engage. The trim was working however. After trying to figure out my problem and replacing battery with a new battery the trim would not work again and the engine starter would only click when attempting to start. Gauges on the dash work normally and there is power to lights, depth finder, etc. Can anyone help me before I take it to the dealer??

A bad connection + or - will show up like this.
if all connections are cleaned and still have the problem , internals of a cable or the relays themselves, but both start and T&T would have to be bad at the same time which in not likely.
You could do a voltage drop test to find where the voltage is being restricted

also check the cable ends at the battery - often corrosion migrates back from the lug, underneath the plastic jacketing

Thanks for your reply. The trim and tilt does not work(only a clicking sound) when attempting to raise or lower from both locations. Also, at the same time the engine refuses to turn over. I get only a clicking noise from the starter motor. Oddly enough, this morning I took the cover off the engine and checked for loose terminals at the starter and elsewhere. Everything looks OK all the way back to the new battery terminals. I tried the tilt button on the engine and it worked!! I was able to get the motor back into the trailering position for a trip to the shop. The engine still refuses to start - only a clicking from the starter motor.

How far away is the battery from the engine?
If close enough you can use a known GOOD set of automobile jumper cable's and bypass you boat cable's all together and see if it starts. That would confirm cable's are bad or a bad connection or terminal on the cable.

Thanks for the good advice. Before I read your reply I removed and cleaned ALL the battery to engine connections. Result............Everything seems back to normal!! Even though the terminals looked OK I used a Dremel tool and resurfaced all the contact areas. Thanks for everyone's advice.
