Engine noise

i have a 2005 F115 and when I slow down to idle after running down the lake I hear a sound which to me sounds like a belt noise
Like an alternator belt sound a car engine would have .
Not a squeal just a whirring sound

Thoughts ?

OP, it doesn't drive the alternator - but there IS a belt there, driving the cams

Motor is new to me
I don't know yet how many hours are on it
Honestly doesnt look like many but I have ordered a timing belt for it just for piece of mind .
Is it possible that timing belt could be heard ?

actually, not - referring to the "steady bushing" which is located a few inches above the water pump.
Its arguably a "non-essential" part and commonly makes a "squealing" sound.

inexpensive and not a big deal to replace if necessary

before throwing parts at the motor drop the lower unit and grease the driveshaft bushing with the correct grease.
put it back together and see if that was the problem.
or squirt some lub onto the drive shaft so it will run down to the bushing to see if it makes a difference. if it does the pull and grease properly

It is only noticeable when its warmed up

No video yet but I have noticed that it pretty much goes away in neutral .
Would that indicate bushing ?

If so is it safe to use it for the season and have it attended too in the Fall ?

Neutral is where I noticed the bushing noise the most.
