Installed a Fuel Management Gauge-FMG(Yamaha 6Y5-8350F-01-00) last year and has worked perfectly until this weekend. Now it will power up with key along with all other gauges and work perfectly UNTIL I turn the key switch off. My other 2 multifunction gauges turn off but the Fuel Management Gauge remains on and FROZEN-nothing happens and buttons do not respond. Even If I turn off battery switch killing power to helm, the FMG remains on with those frozen numbers. Turning key switch on/off or starting engines don't effect the frozen gauge.
The only way to turn it off is to pull the red bullet out of the yamaha power supply cluster under the helm. I plug it back in, it turns on--resets to the last data (MPG/Fuel Burn) and works properly. If on for more than @ 5 minutes if you turn off key switch, its frozen again.
I have checked and moved all the connections around in the yamaha bullet receptors.
The fact that the gauge remains frozen even after power off at battery makes me think I've got a bad gauge.
Any ideas? Thank you in advance...
