I have a 2003 50 hp 4-Stroke that seems starts and runs in the tilted "up" position but kills when I tilt it down. Any thoughts?

Thoughts? Easy fix... Don't tilt it down.
The first thing I would look at is all of the electrical connections under the hood. It sounds like when the engine is tilting down, it's putting a different type of stress on the wires (possibly not clamped down tight enough) and it's opening a connection. Give everything a real good lookover - push and pull on things, especially anything held with a screw or nut. HOPEFULLY it's something that simple. Another possibility is a failed (internally) wire, which could be a little harder to figure out.2000 Yamaha OX66 250HP SX250TXRY 61AX103847T

Good luck - hope for an easy fix... sometimes electrical stuff can be a royal PIA. Also, there are guys much more knowledgeable than me here - maybe they can give you some more guidance. It may help to know your complete model number, though.2000 Yamaha OX66 250HP SX250TXRY 61AX103847T
