Not yet! Been hard to determine a day when I will be around the house for that long. One of grocery chains has brisket in the weekly ad for Memorial Day. Rare to ever see brisket advertised around here. May go and pick one up for tomorrow.

the L in the pic can ID some cases.
later model cases the L is stamped in the casting under the trim tab.

Are you allowed to pass under bridges at full speed in FL. GA law is idle speed within 100ft of a fixed object or a boat not underway. Not the exact wording of law but the basic intent.

I forgot what the speed limit is up there(might be idle-it is IDLE at another bridge further down). I don't get up river that far often... That's why I don't go near the water on holiday weekends.. It's like New years eve, all the rookie drunk drivers are out there..

Have not had a chance to address the stalling except to run a separate fuel line from a gas tank on the deck to make sure the boat fuel system was not at fault. The engine still stalls after 3 or 4 minutes if the bulb is not pumped.

As far as the control box is concerned, the 704 binnacle is mounted correctly and the cable is connected correctly and when the shifter is moved forward, the cable moves the shift slide to the forward position, but the prop turns to the left. I have not located an "L" for left on the LU, but it is definitely a lefty. I can't see any other conclusion.

Now that the Memorial Day holiday is behind us, I will pursue some satisfaction from my so called mechanic.

I could put a left prop on this LU and it would be fine, but I am going to let the mechanic that sold me this motor solve these problems if I have to take him to court. There is no indication at this time that I will have to resort to that, but one never knows. I paid for an operating engine and I will insist on getting one.

Finally heard back from my maniac. He is still on vacation until next week, but couldn't understand why the LU did not have an "L" stamped on it. So he is going to find me a LH prop to exchange for the RH prop he sold me.

Also, He insisted that I bring the boat back to his shop even though the logistics are pretty heavy, so I decided to tackle the stalling on my own and I discovered that the 5 amp fuse was blown on the low pressure pump. I replaced it and it blew also, so I removed the pump and took it to my work bench and found that it was turning, but not pumping.

In that, I have concluded that it was the culprit. I even put 12v to it while it was still on the engine and it would not pump, but I could feel it running.

I think problem solved until the new pump arrives.

but why was it blowing the fuse?
did you check to see how many amps it was pulling when running?

Sounds like the impeller (or whatever they use), separated from the electric motor. Now the motor is likely spinning too fast or simply NOT stopping (getting hot) as there's NO fuel pressure build up perhaps?

Cut that pump up and see what's going inside! (just for S&G's, curiosity)

The pump was getting warm and I had concluded that the pump was causing the fuses to blow because it was getting warm and not pumping. I gave it ample time to pump during my bench test. It just would not do it. I even pumped liquid into it thinking it may need to be primed even I knew that wouldn't be the case.
