’08 Yamaha 25hp 2 Stroke
Recently my engine started misfiring at idle and just above idle. It runs fine with I open up the throttle. Before I pull the carbs for inspection/cleaning, i want do some simple checks (so I thought) to see if that would help. I checked the plugs and they seem okay, a little oily but not too bad. Now I want to make sure the air mixture screw is exactly 2 3/4 turn out of the fully seated position. However, there’s a black plug that prohibits me from turning it. I read something about big brother EPA making Yamaha put it on there?
I know these pilot screws are fragile and tend to break, so I don’t want to just start yanking the on the cap with pliers. How do I get this stupid a** plug off without munging thing up in there?
Thanks
