  • F250 water pump kit

I have done all the annual maint items with no probs incl the internal anodes and the thermostats. Need to change out the water pump kit on my right hand drive, looks pretty straightforward, but wanted to hear from the experts on it, in particular lining up the shafts properly when bolting the lower back up.

I am sure there are several threads on it, etc but doesnt hurt to hear it again.

    thanks for the tips!

Didn't watch the videos (and maybe it's addressed), but while the SS wear plate is off, check to see if the SMALL stainless steel spring is STILL around the seal for the drive-shaft.

That seal (actually two, one atop the other) spring likes to "go away" (fail) over time...

And use the proper YAMAHA marine grease on the splines and ESPECIALLY the mid-section bushing.. **Walmart wheel bearing grease will NOT cut it and you WILL get to have a "do over"... Don't ask....

I like that grease, I use it on my FJR1300 too...
If its got teats or tires, you bound to have trouble with it....
