No pulling of anyone's leg. Or chain. I woke up the AM with a terrible pain in my shoulder. Either from pulling and pulling the motor or from lifting logs.
It is hell getting old. If I had known I would have lasted this long I would have taken better care of myself.
Got the bastard going but it still needs a major adjustment. Read on the inner web about making a tool from a bic pen body. Gonna try that in a while. Heat the plastic tube section of the pen and let it mold itself around the damn adjustment screw. We shall see.

That is what I did with a plastic outer cover of the insulated electric butt splice.
also used copper tubing before, but had a old screw I placed in a vice and then beat the tubing against the screw head to shape it.
those with plastic limiters over the screws are a pain to remove sometimes
with the close tolerances between the screw head and the hole they place them in , the real tools work best.
what fuel and oil are you using?
what mix ratio?
Air cooled motors use a different oil, or should from what I have read.
you think you hurt now, try working hard like that for a couple of days and then get in a truck to drive home about 3 hours. getting out of truck you can hardly stand up much less walkLast edited by 99yam40; 03-30-2017, 03:17 PM.

Brand new gasoline. One gallon in a one gallon container.
The chainsaw came with a bottle of synthetic oil. Said to add the bottle to one gallon. Which I did. Think it is 50/1.
The bic pen trick worked. No cover over the mixture screws. Turned the low speed mixture out about an 8th of a turn and it seems to be much better.
Turned the idle speed screw about a half turn.
I shall not make any comments about the new gasoline container. The EPA approved one with the rube ****berg mechanism in the pour spout. That cost me over 14 bucks. Which I now need to modify to make it work better.

Jethro, once you richen up those screws, that Poulan will start easier than an F60 with a broke Prime Start
And yes, the oil used is different from 2 stroke outboard as the air cooled engine is run MUCH HARDER. Especially the chain saw which is idle or WOT...

Been designing and making them since 2004, kinda as a side hobby/boat, motorcycle goodie, maintenance $. Paid for all sonic cleaner, manometer, most of my other tools as well. Just paid for all the maintenance on the boat, oil change kit, YDS, lap top, desk top, etc..
For the Yamaha FJR, similar design(8 styles (10 options just for this bike):

Yep. Just the brackets/hardware/directions. The locks themselves I supply a Yamaha part #. The lock assembly can be rekeyed (and the BMW's) to fit your ignition key. I make them for some other bikes as well..
