Can please anyone explain purpose of lower unit nipple and the hose on lower unit.
Where is the other end connected ??

Looks to be the speedometer tube.

For the Op, on the very front leading edge of your LU, you'll feel a very small notch. That opens up and goes to that hose. Water pressure goes thru the hose up to a "pressure operated" speedometer.

Blow thru that hose or spray a lubricant and you'll see it flow out that notch.

That notch, if used in salt water, tends to clog up with crap and more so with corrosion.
