    the oil pan is in fact water cooled.
    water passages all around it.
    warp any of the castings and water can leak in.

      Would that, ^^^^, be the next most likely cause? Then power head removal for inspection?

        what do you guys think of the picture that I posted of the remanufactured head with the pitting on the #4 cylinder? Do you think that is acceptable???

          That spot isn't going to leak anytime soon and is NOT your current leak(as long as it's not warped). I'd personally keep it..
