Might be the nature of the beast.

The rate of the RPM reduction is electronically con*****ed so as to slow down the rate of negative acceleration. Think electronic dashpot.

Learning to fly a gas turbine powered aircraft can drive a piston pilot crazy. Throttle response lags the throttle handle position quite a bit.

Agreed, it could be the nature of the beast BUT, it's a single TB and "appears" to be a pretty basic FI system.

This is the first I've seen here of it... I have to doubt engineers would let something like that leave the factory designed to operate like that.

Yamaha would see lots of LU's coming back for warranty, (especially with an extended warranty)..

Heck, when my engine is cold, idling at 800, I won't shift it. Until it hits 700 it stays in neutral..

Where's Rodnut? He should know for certain..

"Touch and go" IS the term for intentional touch down to runway, then accelerate back into flight.

"Go around" is when oops happens, that ain't good!!!

That's what I was referring to....

                Turbine learning curve.

Or you are employed by Korean Air...they hear it often.

Back in the good old days I flew high and low,
now a days I have slowed way down and just drive the normal speed limit

Depends on my energy level. Sometimes on top is good, sometimes the bottom is right as well.

As I had previously mentioned I have 2 F70LA's (2014's) The both act exactly the same and have been that way since new. My neighbor has a F90 and a friend has an F115 so I am curious about there characteristics. Will check when the season warms up.
